AZURE
The last time I’ve worn a one-piece, it was definitely in kindergarten. In my mature years, I never gravitated towards a one-piece because they were never stylish and always had a tacky print. Also, if I wore a one-piece, I would definitely be flat at the front and back! NO THANK YOU!!! To flatter my body type, I always gravitated towards purchasing two-piece bikinis especially, triangle-styled tops. Triangle bikini tops are more flattering for someone like me, who has a small chest and it’s even better when the inner lining of the top allows you to insert more padding! The trick to creating the illusion you have more cleavage is to insert the padding and make sure you tie your bikini top hella tight!!! It works for me all the time!
It’s exciting to see trendy, stylish and flattering one-piece swimsuits compared to the ones I saw in my younger days. As well, I love that there are more options now compared to the time they were blowing up in trend a couple years back. The first time I saw them in stores, they were only carrying one style. Low front and low back. Like how am I going to insert my padding!!! LOL. Since I only have bikinis (triangle & bandeaus), I thought I would invest in a one-piece for my solo journey to Bali. I really love my one-shoulder, one-piece swimsuit in cornflower blue from H&M. It’s very flattering for my body type and it’s also fun with the decorative knot detail on the shoulder and the cut-off detail on the waist. Now, I’m all about my even tan lines so I would definitely wear my bandeau and cheeky bottoms first when I get my tan on! Once I get the perfect colour or let’s say it’s a cloudy day at the beach, I would definitely wear my one-piece swimsuit.
How to Style: WEAR IT WITH CONFIDENCE!!! I understand. It’s definitely difficult and frustrating at times to find the perfect swimsuit. We always want to hide problem areas like our stomach or like me, I want to find styles that create the illusion of a bigger chest and like I got something at the back! No matter what, I suggest you research what works for your body type and purchase a swimsuit that makes you happy. Let’s embrace our little flaws and wear it with confidence! When you’re wearing your swimsuit or bikini just remember what Kendrick Lamar says in his song, HUMBLE. “Show me somethin' natural like ass with some stretchmarks.” Okay, Kendrick! That’s me right here!!!
