PURSUIT OF SPRING
I’ve been working from home since October and I must say, I do miss working at the office. And let’s be real here! It’s only a few things not a whole lot. If I had my way, I would work from home, PERMANENTLY. I miss my morning walks to one of my favourite local coffee shop to grab an Americano to start the day. I love meeting up with my friends in downtown for lunch or a nice walk around the Legislature grounds. And lastly, I really miss dressing up for work! It was never stressful for me when I had to pick out an outfit for work. A look was always inspired by how I was feeling that very morning.
For Spring 2021, I really wanted to incorporate a lot of colours to my look. I’m never known to be shy of wearing colours but this season I was craving colours! Maybe the weather is getting better and I’m feeling great myself so I wanted my wardrobe to reflect how I was feeling. The colours I’ve been gravitating towards are sage green, lilacs. slate blue, pastel yellow and peach.
While shopping online, I’ve been noticing an overwhelming presence of oversized monochromatic blazers and trousers in beautiful pastels and neutral tones. I found this sage green H&M matching set and instantly fell in love. The look of an oversized monochromatic blazer and matching trouser is perfection for me. The look simply oozes chic, fun, and trendy! Real talk. Doesn’t it remind you of early 2000’s NBA Draft line-up fashion from the likes of Carmelo, D Wade, Chris Bosh and Lebron James?!!!
I decided to pair my oversized blazer/trouser set with a blue/gray ribbed crop top from Zara. To complete this look I wore statement turquoise earrings from Zara and a pair of mint green strappy heels. Another suggestion to make your look more playful is to replace your heels with fashionable sneakers. Not too long ago, I bought a pair of lilac Nike Air Max Verona sneakers that would go very well with this look.
Fashion Tip: For Spring/Summer don’t be afraid to mix and match complementary colours to your look. BE BOLD. HAVE FUN. PLAY.
